Dryer Sheet Card Experiment

Dryer Sheet Card Experiment

I have been traveling all day, but wanted to get a quick post out on something I made a whole ago and just never got the chance to post. A card made using a used (and washed a second time) dryer sheet! I had always heard of the idea and saw a couple of crafters do it and wanted to try it for myself. This was just a tester and now that I know I can do it I want to make a complete card.

A quick run down of what I did and used...

- Used the Flower Shop stamp set and matching Pansy Punch.
- Stamp Pads and Cardstock used are Daffodil Delight and Raspberry Ripple and I used Whisper White too.
- Embossed the punched out flower with versa mark, heat and stink powder, and dazzling diamonds.
- Used a glue stick to adhere the dryer sheet to the card stock (taped the excess to the back if some hung over since I popped the top layer up using dimensionals.
- Popped the flower up with a dimensional as well.

So here it is...

Pomp and Circumstance Graduation Card

Pomp and Circumstance Graduation Card

I needed a graduation card for my cousin's graduation from William and Mary a few weeks back so below is what I came up with. The colors were inspired by the school colors green, gold, and silver. The stamp set I bought a few months back because I knew I would be attending two graduations and I wanted "Graduation specific" stamps. I had also just bought the Flowering Flourishes stamp set thanks to Pinterest (the enemy) because I kept seeing so many awesome cards made with it and I finally gave in! Hope you like it, she loved it :-). I also posted the "ingredients" below the picture if you would like to see what I used to make it.

Just in CASE - Premiere!!!

Just in CASE - Premiere

Hey everyone! I fell off for a bit, but I am back with some cool stuff for you guys. I watched A LOT of YouTube this weekend and decided to try some stuff I saw and loved. That gave me an idea to start a blog series called "Just In CASE". The meaning is 2-fold. I will start with the "CASE". For those of you unfamiliar with the term, in the card-making world, it means "Copy And Share Everything"...CASE. Basically it is how we encourage the sharing of ideas between one another. The only rule is that you do not act like it's your brand new idea and give credit where credit is due. Even if you don't remember where you saw it, acknowledge you weren't the brain-child of the idea. You also don't have to do the SAME thing, it can just be a card that gave you an idea and is something LIKE the one you saw.

The second part is the "Just in case" as a whole. Who doesn't like to have a card on hand "just in case" one is needed? I know I do. So that is the point of the series and as I find cool ideas I want to CASE, I will share them with you! I had a very busy weekend so actually have FIVE new CASE cards I want to share with you all, but will be sharing them one at a time. I also decided to post the video (if applicable) I got the idea from as well...no point in re-inventing the wheel just yet. I plan to get my own YouTube channel up and running, but I have some things to work out. It WILL be up and running soon though so watch out!

Ok so on to my first Just in CASE (JIC) card...

PDE 1/21, SUO 1/28, and CCMC 2/1 Challenges

PDE 1/21, SUO 1/28, and CCMC 2/1 Challenges

This week I chose to do three challenges within one card. I thought the idea of using no layers was interesting and was definitely a challenge! I had card club this Friday night in which we made FOUR cards, all using items from the new SU! Occasions Mini 2014 and Sale-A-Bration, so I will be posting these over the next week.

3. SUO

"...our challenge is to make a card with NO layers!  Embellishments are fine.  But only that basic flat or folded card. "
