Love On Top - Beyonce

I know it has been a while! Going back to work after weeks off on medical leave was a struggle and I have been trying to get adapted again.


I fell in love with a new song over the past week or so, so I felt it was only necessary to come back with it for my Video Vault. I think "Love On Top" by Beyonce is hot fire and it's such a uplifting song. You cannot help but get excited when you hear it. I loved it so much I downloaded her album "4" from Itunes. I don't get new music often, but I have no problem paying for music when it's worth it. Beyonce also seems to be having so much fun in the video. So I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!


Note: For some reason they don't do the 2nd verse in the video...ugh but whatever still a good song.

Giving Him Something He Can Feel - En Vogue

All I can say is BAD CHICKS! I think every guy, if he wasn't already, fell in love with En Vogue while watching this video lol. Those were definitely some talented vocalist though. I miss them! There is one part around the 3:27ish mark where this one guy with short dreads is jammin' like this was a pop song and I used to fall out laughing back then and I still fall out laughing when I see that LOL!

No No No Part 1 & 2 - Destiny's Child

Throwback! We all know Destiny's Child used to be poppin' back in the day and yes it is old school for us 80s babies! I remember when I was a counselor at the YWCA camp, the girls put together a dance to this song and it was so cute LOL! I can still see it in my head. I miss those girls, one was named Shayla and I still have a painting she made for me and this was like 10-11 yrs ago...awww. 


A few things though. How old were they in this video? I feel like those red dresses were a little much for them as young GIRLS. Also, I forgot Immature was in this video! Lastly, does anyone else feel like this is a bite off the EnVogue - Givin Him Something He Can Feel video? Seems veeeeeery similar. I like the faster (part 2) version better so I included that as well. Enjoy!

I have always wanted to shout that from the audience at one of his concerts and I am sooooo devastated I will never be able to! This man was ta-len-ted! I have The MJ Experience on the Wii and I swear I cannot see how he accomplishes all of those moves without skipping a beat! My godson LOVES MJ and it will be a sad day when he finds out he is no longer with us.

Gettin' Jiggy Wit It - Will Smith

Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah...nah nah nah nah nah!!! Ya'll remember the dance waving your arms with your hands balled up in a fist? LOL. I still know the words to this song and think it was and still is a great party hit if it's the "throwback" segment of the party. Amazing what is considered "cool" depending on the time period. Now we (as in people...NOT me) are doing things like "stanky-legs" and "beef-it-ups". I am sorry, but I drew the line at the "Superman" by Soulja Boy and I am not even proud of that lol. Anyway enjoy!

California Girls - Katy Perry

This video is just pure fun! I love to just jump around with my hands in the air spinning in circles when I hear this song lol. I was over-joyed when I bought Just Dance 3 and saw it was on there too!

Can I Get A What What - Jay-Z ft. Amil and Ja Rule

I looooooved this song and still do! This is the CLEAN version of course lol. I still know all the words, esp Amil and Ja Rule's parts, they were my fav 2 in the video. I remember my dad used to mix up this song with Noreaga "Superthug (What What)"...see below as well if you forgot what song that is. He would say "Can I Get A What What What What What....." LMBO! I swear I fell out every time!

This video was released in 1995. Hard to believe I was only 10 when it came out! Seems like my friends and I were a little yooooung to get the message, but we did. And let's not forget the cool water effect of them coming up from the water and liquidating back into it! Back in the day that was soooo cool, but in today's world, that would probably be considered amateur lol. Oh well, it was a great song and video!

The Boy Is Mine - Brandy & Monica

Man this was THE song man and guess when it came out...1998 when I was  12 going on 13. I remember me and my girlfriends would pick a side, I was always Brandy, and sing it. I loved the song, but I always thought the point of the song was dumb. Like why are you fighting over this man...fight HIM. But they redeemed themselves at the end so they are alright with me.

No Scrubs - TLC

Once again, I was about 14 when this song came out. I promise yall 1999-2000 was a great time period for hits. I remember girls were hype and no man (or boy at our age) had a chance. Girls were always in their face singing "I don't want no scrub!" LOL. Shoot 12 yrs later...I STILL don't want no scrub! I used to love the rap by the late Left-Eye and could not STAND when videos or the radio would cut it off before she finished her rap. I used to and still know her rap. Just got finished rapping it as a matter of fact!

This is one of my favorite songs to dance to on Just Dance 2, I don't even really need to look at the screen anymore...sad I know!!! I personally love party beats and this song just makes me wanna jump up and down like a crazy person!

Shoot y'all, this was the song back when I was like 14 (everything was a hit when I was 14). I even knew and STILL know the dance they do up on them pillars during the chorus! I didn't think about this before but in the song they say "...he is my, my property..." dag what a message to be telling young girls, but hey, men do it in their songs all the time so who cares!

If I had a man, I would want him to sing this to me. This is such a beautiful song!

HA! She was so daggon ca-ute! Talkin bout Dr. Seuss lol. So much spunk to be so young too. And WHY is she driving a car????? Anywho, random thought so felt I needed to post immediately!

Y'all remember this?! I used to love this song. The movie was really good too. As a matter of fact I think I may try and find it on Netflix and watch it this weekend!

Who doesn't love this song? Definitely a song that I used to love to hear at parties back in the day and wouldn't mind hearing as a throw back at a party.

Friday - Rebecca Black

Ok so I feel really bad for putting this girl out there, but I have to admit this is funny. Honestly I don't think it's all that bad and she just needs to work on the tone of the way she says certain things and work on the lyrics a little bit. What makes it funny to ME is some of the lyrics, not that she can't sing or anything because she sound better than some people I have heard over the years.


Apparently her parents paid for this, about $4000 I think. I don't know if that was the total or partial cost though. Sad part is she dropped out of school because she was being bullied and is now being home-schooled. People were mocking her when she walks by saying "Friday Friday Friday" or "Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?" (I will admit I busted out laughing on that one.)


Funny thing is, Justin Bieber's "Baby" song was criticized as being the most disliked YouTube video back when it first aired and look at him. She may be a joke now, but let's see who selling out concerts in 6 months. News stories say plenty of celebs like Jessica Alba and Christina Aguilera were teased in school as well, but who cares, they are top dogs now. 


Apparently she made another song called "My Moment" (see below) which talks about her bullying so I am glad this hasn't crushed her spirit. I actually like this one. I am not going to go out and buy the cd, but I think kids in her age group or younger would. She is no different than Victoria or Selina Gomez in my opinion. My favorite part in "My Moment" actually is when she says "Hope that you are happy cuz I'm about to blow up". She is speaking what she wants and going for it. I think she has potential.
